Maybe the point of putting it out there so early is for 2 reasons, 1 to capture the hype of the excitement while the movie is still fresh so people lock in with there non refundable preorder deposits, and to atleast put this out there incase someone is thinking of buying another version? I'm not sure but it does suck to wait forever for these. Infinity War figures are still dropping and that's been out what a Year and a Half?

Also, I am getting the normal version even though its quite pricey because I too, figured why not since it's Tony Starks last ride. Same with Scarlet Jo as Black Widow. BUT, this is the MCU afterall and they are flirting with a multiverse/time travel, etc.

If for some reason the "new" MCU post Steve Rodgers/Tony Stark/Natasha doesn't get off to a great start or people aren't as interested anymore (I know highly doubtful!), I wouldn't be surprised if Disney offered RDJ a ton of money to come back as some alternate reality Iron Man to bring back fans. Again I know highly doubtful and there's so many characters Marvel could use moving forward to sustain their MCU, but just a hypothetical way to keep making more RDJ Iron Man toys lol.
