The handling of this transition is where the problems lie but you can thank Ragnarok for new goofball Thor. The ‘comedy’ has got Hemsworth’s stamp all over it. He’s just riffing most the time now to see what lands and directors are allowing it. The Russos May have wanted broken Thor but had to continue with Taikas bumbling buffoon. But they also gave us comedy Hulk so who knows.
I actually really like the Endgame finale look. He seems completely Viking now and hopefully realises that he’s got a second chance to do something meaningful and doesn’t just reign himself to goofing around space with the GOTG crew. That being said, there’s no better group for a broken god to to find himself with. The healing can begin now and he’ll no doubt get back to a form you find more appealing.
Pretty much all of that. My love for his portrayal in Endgame doesn't really have anything to do with what he looks like, his character arc is probably my favorite one so far in all of the MCU. He's broken and he redeems himself.
I feel like some people can't handle that Thor got weak at one point and just don't like it.
