I get where you're coming from, but I wouldn't be. It isn't this way across every poll or list, but AoA is typically regarded in the upper echelons of X-men stories there is, often in the top 2 or 3 - DPS being #1 of course and DOFP oftentimes being up there as well.

The art was ridiculously over the top 90s, but as a storyline, I can't think of anything from outside of Claremont's run that has held up as well. Sure, X-ecutioner's song and Messiah Complex are great, but I think generally they aren't as well regarded. And FWIW, that's NOT just IMO.

(Personally, Inferno doesn't get half the love it deserves and is the best crossover and hell, I'll even say it, BEST storyline from the X-men mythos, and that IS just IMO)
