Rey I've really enjoyed because she's so focused on trying to find her place in the universe, where she is, where she was from, and where she's supposed to be, that she has infinite possibilities as a character. Unlike previous Jedi we have seen, who have a focused reason for being a Jedi (Anakin to free his mom, Luke to follow his father), Rey is choosing the path to learn more about herself. It's an interesting motivation.

I'm just a very casual Starwars fan (seen the movies, bought none of the cartoons, books, toys, games, or other extended media) so my opinion probably counts for very little here. I just wanted to share a different viewpoint.
People hate her because she has no training and everything came to her without working for it.
