I got the Hulk and Thanos figures.
Let me say that I've seen the older Marvel Select figures. Yeah they looked like nice statues but then they had limited articulation and had the freedom with the looks.
With the MCU they are locked in.
Clearly though they aren't getting 3D head scans like Hasbro is.
I think Hasbro wins there but it's not horrible.
Thanos
- The overall figure if pretty good. I think it gets extra points for not being a super expensive figure at this size, detail, and price point. Hasbro made this dude a BAF.
I wish there was more articulation in the torso. It's like they refuse to sacrifice accuracy for that.If it had the articulation like the Power Rangers Lightning Collection, this would go up a huge amount of point in my book.
The sword though now makes perfect sense. It's why all the swords for these figures are wrong. It's based off the concept art. The filmmakers must have changed it after they sent off all the material.
Hulk
- That one I'm a little mixed. It feels hollow in the legs while Thanos feels solid. Hulk feels light and the plastic sorta feels cheap. This is really a figure that needed a softer surface to it. Also there clearly a split at the waist but it can't rotate. Also the legs and the waist look awful as you can clearly see the joints. It's like they designed it thinking he'd be wearing a 2nd layer. So yeah this is a design that needed a covering as opposed to hard plastic.
In general both figures lack this ab crunch that it seems the Select line refuses to take to it's maximum potential.
I'd say if you want an MCU Thanos then get this guy. Hulk I don't know. I'm not even sure the SHF is really there either. Though personally I'm not a huge fan of this look. I'd rather get the IW Hulk SHF figure......if it was really on sale. I guess I think it's more the general hero suit design that's limiting.
Overall, they need to work on articulation. It's just a statue trying to move and that's some mixed results.
