Visually they did a great job and even though he's mostly one color you can still appreciate a lot of the fine sculpted details. On the subject of colors I really like the subtle purple visible on his torso and legs, although obviously his skirt hides the legs. Given that he's done in the 7" scale I think the pins came out as well as they could have. I found it easy to switch the heads which is good since I definitely prefer the angry "we'll tear your soul apart!" sculpt, it looks a little closer to Doug and they did a really good job with his teeth. Everything moves pretty well on mine and the elbow bend is particularly appreciated. For accessories he just has the two configurations of the puzzle box and his three tools. My only QC error shows up here as the straight knife is missing its little hook to hang it with the others, that's only a minor inconvenience for me though as I can make a hook out of wire.
Also at Target I picked up the NECA '64 Godzilla figure. I saw some when they first came out in December and was seriously impressed but passed on it because of all of the other things I was looking for at that time. Of course then they were totally sold out by the time I went back in January, but now my Target finally got more in so this time I was able to scoop him up. Except for the atomic breath not really holding in his mouth all that well I really dig it, just an all around excellent Godzilla toy. Definitely got my fingers crossed to see NECA handle the '68
Destroy All Monsters
version with this level of class.
Very cool! I'm really hoping we see a NECA '78 Michael Myers at Toy Fair or SDCC, if Mezco, Super7 and now MEGO can do versions of it, I feel like there's no excuse for NECA not to be able to!
