pay a little extra at a store for a better product, or save some $$ and do it yourself? Meaning would you rather pay $20 for a Marvel Legends figure that's average could be good or bad paint, typical articulation.. Or would you rather show out $30-40 per figure if it meant you got the features you wanted?
I often see great customs on this site, ebay, jin's site etc... but I can't help but think that these massive corporations who pay guys big bucks to build, package, and market the figures to us, without our input.. which results in us having to spend hrs painting and finetuning our toys to the way they should look... I wish I could buy a marvel legends or marvel universe figure that had the features I wanted and charged more for it because the quality is there. People pay $100+ on a hot toys figure because of the details, from packaging to accessories to paint aps, to production run and availability and they eventually sell out of all the toys because they're that damn good.
I would love to pay $40 for an Iron man toy that had light up hands, feet, chest mask, with an alternate head and hands ... instead of trying to outbid the guy next to me on ebay for $80 only to find out directions on youtube to do it myself but I have to spend $80 on power tools and supplies so... I'm no farther off ... I do customize some figures mainly paint apps, but I do some sculpting etc but soldering and stuff is not up my alley and I'm more prown to hurting myself , ruining my toy or both haha.. I just want to know from you
would you pay extra for a better quality toy.... ? If so what features.. maybe a collectors line with metal parts ie claws, swords, or real leather pieces.. lifelike head sculpts etc...
