I've always thought 3.75-4" were the perfect size for action figures for the reasons you listed, and for the physical space they take up (or don't take up). That scale is easier to display or store. More importantly, from a kid's perspective, that size is much more portable. You could sneak a couple of Joes or
Star Wars guys to school in your front pockets (try that with He Man & Skeletor), and you could definitely take more Joes with you on a family trip.

Anything bigger than an original Super Powers guy is just less fun to me. At that point, they stop being action figures & start becoming space-eating dolls or statues.
