I'm currently working on restoring an original Power Sword. It came without the full strap, but a small amount was left inside the hilt. It's a black, flexible, glossy, 1/4" vinyl (or other flexible plastic material). One side has vertical ridges; the other side is plain.

Can anyone help identify this material so I can track it down? Alternately, if you can think of a good replacement material, that's appreciated as well.
