Personally, I believe this to be just a tad overblown, but only because I've been an advocate and proponent of Pan-African inter-connectivity since I learned about the concept when reading about luminaries like Du Bois and Garvey as a preteen - coupled with the reality that the character of BP, despite my love for it, represents a fictionally idealized construct neither owned, controlled, nor consistently influenced by the diaspora it's meant to target thus offering little in the way of sustained/actual empowerment. However, in spite of my opinions, I understand the importance of this flick to many and don't mean to diminish that in any way. However, that said, this man was thoughtful and deliberate in ALL of his roles choosing to portray a litany of important culture figures and participate in weighty conceptual theatrical works all throughout his career. Whether he was putting in that WORK on autobiographical efforts for individuals like Thurgood Marshal, Jackie Robinson, or James Brown. Or, if he was portraying fantastical characters like BP and Thoth; Chadwick was steadfast in delivering/introducing audiences to ideas outside the purview of mainstream cinema and for that, I will sorely miss him.

In an age in which societies worldwide have grown more intolerant to expressions and cultures different from their own, I hope people can remember how Chadwick Boseman may have touched them with is innate grace, regal nature, and ultimately humble bearing. We all have qualities that resonate within others and I hope in mourning Chadwick's passing we can remember the ties that bind are more important than the bullshit that separates...
One of the best posts I've come across on this forum in all of my time here. Well said good sir. I've been waiting to write something eloquent on his passing and still need a few days to process.

I understand this sentiment completely and can see the rational on both sides. I've been bothered by his passing but also had the discussion with my wife on how Marvel/Disney is going to move forward with Black Panther 2. My wife and I talked many times this weekend about Chadwick Boseman's career as a fantastic actor and more importantly, his humble and genuine nature as a good human being who inspired so many. We also spent a little time talking about BP2 and the path forward there. It seems like there had been talks about Shuri becoming Black Panther as she has done at points in the comics so I think that was the eventual course anyway that may be sped up. I think its natural to talk about whats next for the next Black Panther movie. In a way, its honoring him and the culturally significant movie he helped shape. I find it more disrespectful with people selling Black Panther merchandise now right after his death.

I really wish people wouldn't be bitter or upset over reviewers getting figures early. For one, most of them overpay on the secondary market like anyone else can do. Secondly, I'm glad when reviewers get figures early. It gives me a chance to help figure out if I actually want to pick the figure up. Not to mention, a guy like Shartimus Prime has been doing this for years and i'm sure has brought a good amount of revenue to Hasbro getting people further interested in the line which helps them keep putting out great figures for all of us. Sure he makes money off of YouTube but he's a real collector like most of us are.
