Just got my YF-21 in. Never had one before. This one for the most part, does not disappoint. However I would be remiss without mentioning a few qualms.
1st off I was somewhat dumbfounded after transforming it. The nose would not lock together well. Now I know what you're thinking, "why yes Shin it DOES just push harder!". I did. No avail. After closer inspection, the diecast bumps which secure the nose section in battroid are slimmer on my sample. So there is barely any "grip" and as a result, the nose is easily dislodged.
The head does not turn well because the cowl/hood gets in the way. Now this part, maybe I am doing something wrong but I doubt it. Has some neat auto-morphing going on. Transformation from fighter to battroid is easy, but going back to fighter is significantly harder. Something that makes me appreciate the VF-11's transformation more(that thing is brilliant).
The toy is top heavy in battroid mode. Heard the 22S overall is tighter. All modes are beautiful. People say that the legs look too skinny, but like the collar on the V2 1/60 VF-1, I don't give a fuck.
Overall I am satisfied but somewhat disappointed. Even if the stand didn't turn out to be all that, those of you with the initial run of the YF-21 may have gotten a better piece. Mine isn't bad, just could have been better. Definitely one of the valks that raised the bar for Yamato.
