With the extreme slowness of releasing figures in this line, I fear it hurt the success of it with collectors, which in turn may have finally killed the line.
Ultimately, it was likely sales that killed the Bucky line. If it were really profitable, it's hard to believe BFS wouldn't have continued it. But has a single figure sold out on their website? These things just didn't move - for whatever reason - not including BFS' complete inability to market product. Make, sure. But market? Not their strong suit. They need to hire someone dedicated to marketing and sales - someone better than whoever they have, anyway. While I don't completely blame BFS for Bucky's sales (it's a niche IP), I do blame them for not putting more focus on completing the core team or the original toy line or hitting some marker - kind of a waste of a license. Instead, BFS seems to operate like Funko, where you release 1 to 2 waves of a license and then abandon it. The end of the Bucky line is sad. And who asked for Pop Eye? Congrats to those who have been waiting their whole lives for this...Happy 91st birthday!
