And you can't compare Prime 1 to NECA at all. Prime 1 is a company that only sells low run, high cost statues and busts. Their items are priced withe the intent on selling between 500 and 1,000 pieces in most cases.
For Otachi, you're missing one huge change between 2015 and 2019, and that's the loss of Toys R Us. NECA had a huge presence there, as TRU was their main brick and mortar retail outlet. NECA's allocated shelf space was fairly large. Had TRU still been around in 2019, I suspect Ghidorh would have most likely been made.
Unrelated but just curious Joe, do you know if something happened between NECA and Gamestop to make them part ways? I'm wondering if the movie Turtle debacle had anything to do with it, or if GS was delinquent on payments haha
