I found Mac at Target yesterday morning. They had plenty of him, split between the neca section and an endcap in the toy department.
He's an outstanding figure. The likeness is spot on to me, but from what I saw in hand, the paint varies on these a lot. Watch out for sloppy beards, weird brown spots on the nose, bad eyes, etc...
I was surprised to find the joints required no heating, they all moved freely right out of the box. Nothing was stuck. That's a big contrast from the last two Neca figures I've purchased this year- Ghost face, and Ash from Alien - no joints would move at all on them until I used the hairdryer.
I did however need the hairdryer to get the accessories into MacReady's hands properly. His hands btw swap really easily. I love how many options you get for displaying him with this version, there's so many parts you can switch around. I can't wait to see more version's down the road. We need a flamethrower and dynamite version, as well as a more "frosted up" variant.
My only complaint is a defect. Unfortunately mine has a messed up whisky glass. The whiskey piece was put in the glass really cockeyed, so it's not level in the glass and looks like shit. A lot of the ones at the store were like this, but my priority was picking out the one that had the best faces. I've tried to fix it but so far I've had no luck pushing it down in or removing it from the glass. It's just in there too tight.
