These Ultimate figures are based on the Sunbow cartoon with some extra accessories from the original toy line. The designs from both the cartoon and original toy line are rather plain when compared to the 25th Anniversary line. Personally, I think it's best that Super7 leaned into those designs rather than adding details. Hasbro made the GI Joe: Renegades figures detailed and realistic. While the figures were good, they were noticeably off from the animation source.

It's possible that Cobra Commander will still come with his hooded head. When Super7 figures go up for preorder, they don't always have the complete list of accessories. Some of the TMNT Ultimates came with more accessories than they were originally listed with.
