Because movie stars have the right to have an opinion too. They're humans just as much as the rest of us.

And I disagree. First, people who are undecided who to support politically are going to side with the person their favorite actors side with.

Secondly, people listen to celebrities. No one gives a shit if some random dude on the internet wants to pay say teachers better salaries. But if you get a high profile actor to speak on behalf of increasing teacher pay, people will listen.
