I just found the whole discussion on Hisstank ironic and a little "grass is greener". Especially about how Bay would be better than Sommers, when I'm sure there are others on TFW who would have wanted the opposite. In fact, there's probably a few fans who STILL want Bay off DOTM.
Well I think Bay on GI Joe would be more entertaining. Dude has a good working relationship with the US military so chances are, we wouldn't see a civilian vehicle turned into a Cobra one but have all vehicles based on real world military stuff. Oh Ace and Slipstream need fighters? BAM que in the USMC, USAF or USN. Kick ass helos? Army has them covered. I wouldn't expect a Bay helmed Joe movie to be in depth and involved, but I think it has potential to be far more entertaining than what we got.
Comparison:
Bay:
Good connects with the military
Massive explosions guaranteed
Good audio/sound engineering(this is something I LOVED from both TF movies)
Lots of action
No lack of fights
Sometimes has visuals which don't break the 180 rule
Ton of well implemented special effects
Sommers:
Basically turned his long planned Accelerator movie into Rise of Cobra
Ice sank...
Special effects not as good
Fast pace but scenes lack sense of urgency
Random stuff..really, MARS vehicles could be controlled via use of the Scottish language? Okay...
Certainly there are things left out, but ultimately I think Bay would make a better movie.
