I mean, given all the leaks we've had so far, the only new female characters are Catwoman from the Robert Pattinson movie and Cyclone from the Black Adam movie -- no comic book version of female characters.
Just because a figure flopped at retail doesn't mean that any character adjacent to it will be automatically doomed. Both of the WW84 figures flopped at retail but McFarlane has continued making Wonder Woman figures. They've released the Last Knight and Death Metal versions of WW and they're rumored to be making another based on the story Endless Winter. Also, Art of the Crime Batgirl wasn't a hit when she was released either. But now we have Batgirl from 3 Jokers and an upcoming one from Gotham Knights.
Part of the problem is that McFarlane isn't universe building the way Mattel and DC Collectibles did. Todd finds designs that he thinks are cool and then makes figures of them. Once a particular story has run its course, he moves on to the next story.
