Cracked did a “if recycling ads were honest” video last year that pretty much said exactly that.

I’m good with plastic free packaging, cardboard heck I’m fine buying loose figures they could put a paper barcode on a loose figure I’d still buy it. Sometimes the plastic tray inserts warp the limbs anyway.

I started steering away from most plastics a few years ago for selfish reasons, I heard they might be releasing estrogenic chemicals so we swapped out shampoo bottles for bar shampoos and soaps and use plates over bowls and bowls over plates for leftovers, metal/glass/ceramic cups etc.... I probably sound like someone who wears a tin foil hat but oh well
