They have lots of sculpted detail, you won't need to do any joint disassembly, and collectors aren't going to be mad that you practiced on something valuable and highly sought after.

Just for reference, I started off painting the hubcaps on my Hasbro Transformers. I just tried filling in little details like hubcaps, tail lights, etc. I got bolder over time and earlier this year, I did this with McFarlane's DCM Deathstroke.

Figure realm is a great site, very handy for checklists. Thanks for the input, I’ve got a box of old toys in the attic that I might practice on, cheers.
