I don't know about bulges (seeing a lot of comics even kind of ignore the bulges...) and I just want to chime in and say that I think McFarlane's breast sculpting is actually OK. No, maybe it's not 100% on point with the comic art, unfortunately, licenors (both Marvel and DC) are
hyper
sensitive to what they perceive as "sexualization" despite it being on the page that's existed for almost 3 decades.
I think McFarlane also
obliterates
Hasbro, who doesn't even try to be natural/anatomically accurate with their female sculpts. The breasts are squeezed onto the front of the chest only (instead of going out to the sides slightly) and are lower and smaller than is natural considering the side of the head/length of the body etc. The thighs are always too thin, but because the hips are spaced slightly wide, it gives this really awkward look.
