In the larger marketing picture - I hate that the film industry has forced fans to consider the business side of the art, but we’ve been here for a while now - I would be quite surprised if the movies didn’t lean on the Icewind Dale Trilogy given how much it lends itself to modern movie sensibilities that mix action, humor and character development (not an endorsement of this style; I feel like ‘cookie-cutter’ concepts are part of what ails in Tinseltown). Each character had a personal journey and backstories that represent many of the elements movie and serial makers try to weave into contemporary works.
