LOL! So true. I have a few and it seems that with every subsequent release he just gets uglier and less "Superman" looking. I feel like, art direction was, "He needs to have a more attractive jaw line, make it more square... make all his facial features more angular". Then the artist interpreted it as just make everything uniformly basic and blocky and rudimentary in nature like a form of "cubism" instead of applying "square" as a subtle and fundamental approach to the sculpt.
They need to contract better sculptors on their core DC line.
I used to personally know one of McFarlane's Walking Dead contract sculptors... he was great, if he was sculpting his own portrait but everything else he did was meh. He actually worked on Sony's super old, long dead DC game based on Jim Lee's art. He did not give or receive feedback very well at all.
