I definitely felt that she needed the ear piece in order to better fit in with her field of operation. Even better, was that the Maria Hill head can very easily wear the Vala helmet without any sort of mod being done to it.

Those abs do indeed come from Zarana. My first Zarana had arms that were constantly falling off at the bicep swivel, so I grabbed another one and chopped up the original for parts.

Classified figures can actually be completely disassembled without the need to dremel and crack torsos if you use plenty of hot water and a little bit of patience when pulling them apart. The most difficult parts to remove will be the arms from the shoulder, but again, if you use enough heat, and tug gently at the ball joint, they will pop right off.
I don't recommend using a hair dryer as the dryer can actually cause certain parts to shrink or melt (such as the web gear and crotch overlays.)
If you have extra figures lying around, don't be afraid to chop em up! There is also a pretty healthy aftermarket of fodder parts on Ebay that are fairly affordable. It's pretty easy with this line since many of the parts are universal, and you can make some fun placeholders (such as this Night Creeper I made) until we get proper versions.
