As for the new, open packaging: I'm just about through with Spin Master. Their handling of the main DC license is ridiculous. How many times have they repackaged these same chunky figures? Of course, Batman gets new sculpts, dozens of different Bat-related characters, vehicles and playsets…
Yes, he sells. But I think DC should insist that a certain percentage of the line is non-Batman. McFarlane seems to do well with it. Do you realize they haven't made mainline DC comics characters like Supergirl (or any Superman family members), Hal Jordan, Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl, Green Arrow... I could easily go on.
How many of us scored the five dollar box set of these same characters at Walmart last Christmas? I bought three of them! It's time for them to do something fresh with the DC universe line.
