During that time DC was in the phase of finding the next generation of characters. Well....another generation. And during the 90's? When things were booming? That was pinnacle.

When I was a kid/teenager? Hal was boring as f**k. With his ear and hammer constructs. He was bland as s**t. He actually only got interesting when....with the combination of his cocky attitude and him failing his city, he cracked. And became Parallax.

So they found a new person. A more relatable person for that generation. He was wrote well and had fun stories. And he was incorporated awesomely with the JLA.

How they tossed him aside because Geoff Johns has a hard on for Hal still burns me. But hey....this shit is cyclical.
