It’s only taken 13 years, but this Iron Man 2 Whiplash Mark II prototype has finally surfaced in painted sample form.

It was reportedly stumbled upon in a Hong Kong shop marked as a sample toy (with no accessories and missing the original shoulder armour).

This was news to the Marvel Universe 3.75 Collectors Facebook group where it was shared.

As far as we know, this is the only painted sample to come to light.

Sharing it here it to continue the story, as it was this thread/photo that helped identify what this new discovery was.

Also wondering if the OP or anyone here (if still around) had heard anything more about this figure in the intervening years.

Marvel Universe and associated lines may be long over, but they can still yield some surprises.
