XALBAGA, THE CAT GOD | STATUE REVEAL
by Skinner
Behold - the Feline God is here.
We’re beyond excited to unveil our fourth original art statue from the wizardry of Skinner - a cosmic entity conjured from a furball spat straight out of the mind of a true art sorcerer.
Xalbaga, the Cat God, emerges as a shrine to imagination — a monument forged in chaos, mythology, and radiant intensity. This project isn’t just a statue; it’s a portal. A bold leap into realms where art becomes artifact, and boundaries between the real and the unreal collapse.
This is Skinner unleashed - free, wild, and transcendent.

The Art of Skinner
Oakland-based artist Skinner is recognized for his vivid, psychedelic and otherworldly art - an agile mix of horror, humour, sci-fi and fantasy. His highly detailed line work, skillful blend of color and composition, make his art amongst the coolest, raddest and most immersive ever.
Rooted in the ‘70s & ‘80s, Skinner created a unique style with rich stories and a thoughtful narrative approach.
The Skinner universe is filled with mystical creatures, dark magic and cursed artifacts, inspired partly by the old school Dungeons & Dragons lore and the cover art of his youth and partly by the pages of illustrated cult magazines such as Heavy Metal and Eerie but also from his love for comics in general.
Mostly focused on his personal work, Skinner has done some cool commercial gigs with Warner Bros, Vans, Adult Swim, Fender guitars, Heavy Metal magazine, Juxtapoz, Kidrobot, Quentin Tarantino, Grammy winning metal band Mastodon and many more.

Xalbaga, The Cat God
In strange heavens, Xalbaga reigned in demonic power as the head of a dark pantheon of old gods. His terror spread across thousands of years until, while meeting a monk on earth to battle one day, he met a stray cat.
The cat had no armor, and no weapons but rolled on its back and wiggled in the dirt. Xalbaga, without thinking, immediately began petting and scratching the cat, as the monk watched from the bushes. The monk knew that the cat had a better chance of overcoming the great demon, than a thousand warriors, and he was right. Soon Xalbaga was on the ground trying to please the stray and hold it in his lap.
No demon god had succumbed so quickly, and Xalbaga soon began the worship of cats on earth, where he kept watch over the wretched little stray that had changed his demon ways with little effort, so long ago.
