I watched a lot of TMNT cartoons as a child and played the games on NES cartridges. Despite this, it's a series I've never really gotten into. I only have a few figures in my collection. I even sold the retro series.
I'm sure new toys are on the way.
I watched the TMNT cartoon when it first aired and read some of the Mirage comics, but that was really about it. I had a few of the Playmates figures, but I never went hard into the line. NECA hooked me with the cartoon line when it was still only available as con exclusives. I loved the sculpts and the matte paint finishes on the figures. Next thing I know, I'm all in on all the different TMNT sub-lines. I realized (probably too late) that I was spending tons of money and taking up tons of space on an IP that I really wasn't that deeply connected to. I had to break the habit of buying toys solely because "they look cool". Given limited resources, I decided only to collect the things that mean something more to me. I have much more love for DC, MOTU, and GI Joe, so those became my focus.
New toys are always on the way!
