We've been sitting on this story all day waiting for more solid developments to come about, but we've decided to go ahead and post up what we do know about this situation. As a previous update from Brian Ward stated via his Twitter account, he was hard at work on a
Beast Wars DVD release
. After that initial post, he started up with some interesting hints about another project he was working on:
"Big news re: BEAST WARS yesterday. But that's just one of MANY titles I'm excited to be working on. Anyone speak Japanese? #NotReallyAsking"
"Looking for bonus feature material re: TRANSFORMERS TAKARA COLLECTION. Commercials, etc. Got anything? #DoesntMeanImWorkingOnIt #YesItDoes"
And finally, the last bit of information which has many people believing this is all but confirmed:
"Working hard on the upcoming BEAST WARS and TAKARA COLLECTION sets. But can this really be considered work?"
Some of you may remember when we had the original Transformers animated movie re-released a few years back, it included
Scramble City
, but with all the audio removed and featured audio commentary instead. The reason the audio was removed was because of copyright issues and royalty issues with using the original Japanese audio. That same logic was behind the idea that we would
NEVER
see a release of the Takara shows here in the United States.
Are we indeed getting some Takara Transformers on DVD here in the United States? And if so, are we getting original Japanese audio? Subtitles? Surely this revelation brings up more questions than even Brian Ward can possibly answer right now, but stay tuned!
Special thanks to
TVShowsonDVD.com
for the information compiling.
