Here's the rest:

Now's it Strakk's turn to be reviewed.

Strakk:

Strakk is a nice combination of white, dark blue, ice blue, and baby blue. I really like the clear ice blue on Strakk's shoulder pads.

Back shot of Strakk. He uses the same idea that Skrall uses, but it's executed in a totally different way. It's awesome, I say, awesome! It makes him look like a hunchback, but he's actually the tallest Glatorian I currently have.

Close-up of Strakk's health counter. Nothing for me to say hear, really, but it makes Strakk have less empty space on him.

The new pieces that Strakk comes with. From left to right: Thornax fruit, one half of Thornax Launcher, Glatorian/Agori fists, Glatorian/Agori head, icicle shoulder pads, Strakk's helmet, his ice ax, and a health counter.

Like all of the other Glatorian of Winter 2009, Strakk is filled to the brim with new pieces, it's really cool, and plus it rocks!

My Final Thoughts:

Even if he's really cool (heh heh, pun), Strakk can't escape the inevitable pro's and con's.

Pro's:
  • Awesome shoulder pads
  • Helmet is nice
  • Ax is awesome with it's colors
  • Uses the Matoran connector like Skrall, but executes it in a different way
  • Loads of new parts
  • The 2008 double sockets are recolored in a nice shade of baby blue
  • The return of old eye colors from 2001

Con's:
  • Uses the Gorast neck style, so his neck is long and wobbles a bit

Stars: 10 out of 10

He's a great addition to your collection, you won't be disappointed. With his helmet's under-bite, combination of colors, and awesome ax, he is worth the 13 dollars you spend!

Now that I have covered the thee Glatorian I currently own, I now review my only Agori, Atakus!

Atakus:

Atakus is your standard Av-Matoran design, being finished in a blink of an eye to veteran Bionicle collectors. His colors consist of black, gray, and his red head.

Back shot of Atakus. He's not that amazing, but with his awesome swords, hands, and head he's got amazing articulation.

The new pieces that Atakus brings us. From left to right: glow-in-the-dark Skrall swords, Glatorian/Agori hands, Glatorian/Agori head, and his helmet.

His helmet looks like a smaller and skinnier version of a Skrall's helmet, but you can tell it's his own.

With the terrible neck problem that the Av-/Shadow Matoran had gone, Atakus is a great small canister set to buy.

My Final Thoughts:

But will he pass the pro's and con's?

Pro's:
  • Neck problem with the Av-/Shadow Matoran had is gone
  • Even with limited articulation, you can pose him in many expressive poses
  • Nice helmet
  • Great buy if you have 8 dollars to spend

Con's:
  • Hands are a bit big on him
  • Articulation is limited

Stars: 10 out of 10

He's the only Agori I currently own, but I can guarantee you, I will be buying more small canister sets than I did the years before.

Look out! He's coming for you!

I'm just going to get this review out of the way.

Tarix:

Tarix is the Glatorian of the Water Tribe, and he's appropriately blue. His hands and feet are Mata blue, a color we haven't really seen since the 01-03 (Personally, I think they should have used more shades of blue for him, it's looks to weird with just the hands and feet being a different color).

Back shot of Tarix. It's nice how they made silver a part of the color scheme, rather than to have the Thornax Launcher and the health counter to be the only silver parts in this set.

Close-up of Tarix's health counter.

The new pieces that Tarix comes with (NOTE: I show pieces that are new to the series/years, like the hands. That's why I show the hands in each review). From left to right: health counter, one half of the Thornax Launcher, a Thornax fruit, Tarix's helmet, Glatorian/Agori hand, an unbent Hordika neck, Glatorian/Agori head, Tarix's water blade (the blade part, not the hilt).

Well, Tarix isn't that impressive as a set alone, but what really makes this set pop out is his character, which makes him almost knight-like, with his codes of honor and willingness to help others before himself.

My Final Thoughts:

But will Tarix's codes of honor win out in the pro's and con's?

Pro's:
  • If you're judging by character and not the set itself, you'd get this guy on your list
  • The return of Mata blue from the 01-03 arc of Bionicle
  • The Inika shoulder pads and thigh armor is recolored into a new gold color I have seen (Brutaka's was a lot darker than Tarix's gold)
  • The air hose from the 2007 summer sets are used in this set to amplify the water aspect of Tarix

Con's:
  • Too much of the dark blue, and too little of the Mata blue
  • The horns on his shoulder armor will fall off a lot
  • The hose can detach from where it connects to the body, which is the health counter
  • When you spin the health counter, the hose will either move with it, or detach as mentioned earlier
  • Helmet feels a bit thin to remove

Stars: 9 out of 10 Stars

Not too well. I don't really recommend this set, but it's not a bad deal at the same time. But if you're going for a budget and choosing what to get, Tarix is one of the few sets you can look over.
