When I first read the title of the thread, I thought someone had a beef with a certain Hobbit.

Once again, Hasbro does not control retail distribution!

They only control shipping to the retail chain's distribution warehouse and that's it. It is up to the retailers to get it to the stores from that point on.

Now, see? You're mixing up case ratios with distribution. Two completely different subjects. And yeah, rail against Hasbro all you want about case ratios. That is something they control. Also, I may be wrong on this, but I swear I thought CW and Vintage were in completely different case assortments. If that's the case, we're back to the issue of distribution.

Hasbro doesn't respect the Vintage line. Ask any SW collector. They focus on CW, which I understand. But come one, reward the collectors with being able to find some new figures.
Let's look at this from a business point of view: Clone Wars has visual media presence in the form of a children's cartoon that is currently airing on a major cable channel. There is also an influx of new characters from that show.

The Vintage line is a throwback with classic and neo-classic characters given the modern toy treatment, similar to Classics-style Transformers. And there is no current media presence (save written works like books, comics, etc). And guess what? Those lines also get less attention because of another series that has current visual media: the TF Movies.

And why does Hasbro do that? Because they go with the line that makes more money. Pure and simple. Ultimately, Hasbro's in this business to make money. We're in this business because we're fans. That doesn't mean they don't care about the fans. In fact, whenever possible, they try to do some cool stuff for us too. Like the Classic and Vintage lines.

Even CW is starting to become harder to find. My Target is on top of all new releases. But when shipments don't come from Hasbro, new products can't be found. Duh. It's Hasbro's fault more than the retailers.
Hasbro can't do anything if the retailers aren't buying more. Have the case ratios for Vintage come back to bite Hasbro in the ass? Possibly. But the only pegwarmers I've seen are from wave 1 and I know for a fact that waves 2-3 came in and got sold out in a matter of days. I was lucky to grab my Jedi Luke when I did and am bummed I didn't pick up a Wicket when I had the chance.

Wave 4 is starting to make an appearance, but I already got the main one I wanted (Mace). I have a feeling some of this wave will also pegwarm for a while as well.
