So I'd be interested in where that information comes from as well since comic book figures from the movie lines are some of the hardest figures to find.
Do they sell much faster? Or are there just less of them produced to begin with?

Nevermind that once again: Just because comic figures from Iron Man 2 seemed to have sold well doesn't mean the same would automatically be true for Thor.

I will amend my earlier "reportedly" to "it was rumored" because I don't remember for the life of me which toy site I read it on, but it was months ago (well before the Thor line ever hit shelves, but after it was becoming rapidly apparent that there wasn't going to be a comic-line to go with it). Thor was an unproven property, and retailers don't tend to take big risks on those. And once again, folks have yet to dissuade the notion that a lot of Thor's comic versions and comic characters just flat-out look silly. The Warriors Three? Balder? About half of Odin's outfits. Even Beta Ray Bill is pretty out-there. Yes, there are characters that would look "cooler" in figure form than those (Sif, Malekith, Most of Loki's outfits, Most of Thor's outfits, Ulik, Skurge, Hela) but generally the manufacturers try to have the comic figures line up with the characters that are actually in the movie for the most part.

Sadly, it looks like we'll never see a comic line for Thor. While Hasbro said they planned on some comic-based figures in "later assortments" it seems unlikely we'll ever get to those later assortments. Then again, some retailers around me have very few Thor figures while Wal-Mart remains packed to the gills.
