You realize her first appearance was in an Avengers Annual having just days before absorbed Ms. Marvel's powers, right? Ms. Marvel IS Rogue's origins. Without that aspect of her history, she would have just been a random pointless addition to the Brotherhood.

I totally expected the "exclusive 6 figure set" they hinted at last year at SDCC to be the X-men Blue Team, given that they already had a Wolverine and Gambit. Psylocke would have been a very simple repaint, and mowhawk Storm is easily turned into Rogue. (She even has the vest, which could become Rogue's jacket) And at the time, Jim Lee Cyclops and Beast were high on the rumor lists. But in the end, it turned out to be the Giant Size X-men set.
