I have an old doggie that was given to me by my mother as a baby... I still have him to this day, though he is definitely worse for wear than he used to be... He is a "Droopy Dog", made by the 'R. Dakin & Co.' in the 1970's.

I had put him in a pillowcase & tossed him in the washer a decade ago, but he didn't survive the wash unscathed. His stitching gave way in multiple places, and the crushed nutshells that made up his insides leaked out everywhere... Luckily, as it was inside a pillowcase, I was able to put most of it back in and sew up the holes. However, he is *far* too fragile for me to do anything else with, as he fill just disintigrate if I handle him much. Right now he is in a top drawer in a night stand, with his nutshell innards leaking into the drawer.

A sad sight, but I can't bear to part with him.
