What I mean by that analogy is that both were supposed to be "heel" characters that people were supposed to not like. Those anti authority figures who do whatever they want to do, whenever and however they like, but not without their own moral code of honor.

Much to the surprise of the writers or in this case, the wrestler, everyone ended up loving them.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where "if it aint broke, let's mass produce it". Wolverine is a very deep character if you actually read the stories that are meant to be his and not just him boosting sales of another team's book and I don't feel he's any more over exposed than Batman is in DC's universe, although I believe Batman is no less deep of a character.

That said, I love Wolverine and he actually is my favorite character for many of the same reasons why Raphael was my favorite Ninja Turtle and Jack Bauer made me a 24 fan.

Wisdom right there. Being Canadian to really helps too lol. It is just depressing that the Wolverine Anime is ruining the character .
