I used regular black poster board for the ground. The stuff that you find in the stationary section at any store. I've also used black matte board before, which I actually prefer since it's thicker and you can scuff it up more and it looks more realistic.

The street sign with the traffic lights is from a deluxe Spider-Man figure released during the first or second movie.
