So it happened to me today. It finally happened to me. I found a repacked figure.
I was at Toys R Us with my girlfriend, and the first thing I did was I went to go look at the Wolverine Origins/Marvel Universe figs.
The first thing I clearly spot is an old school Iron Man figure, and because I'm not super up on the future waves, I thought it was the classic costume Iron Man.
What it ended up being was this:
Super Hero Showdown? Really? This is the one and only Super Hero Showdown figure I ever got. At first I thought it was a cruel joke that Hasbro had concocted, until common sense hit me in the face.
Because I don't really know proper protocol when it comes to these sorts of things, I alerted two workers there. They proceeded to tell me it was a "variant", to which I replied "No, I bought this figure three years ago, I know it's not a variant." One of the workers tried to talk me through it, but I eventually just told him "I thought if it mattered, I should say something."
I now know it doesn't, as he laughed at me as I walked away. Fiend.
