The Giant Size X-Men features most of the X-Men from that comic minus Banshee and Classic Avengers is a done set. Also consider getting a Captain America from eBay. There's currently NO Beast figure from Jim Lee and earlier in the forseeable future. For mainstream villain pairings. You have Magneto, Mystique and Juggernaut. Avengers, you have the Wrecking Crew, Loki, Enchantress, Crimson Dynamo from IM2, Ultron, Absorbing Man. Those are all still relatively affordable figures and gives you a good sense of completion. Great tip, always confirm that all figures exist and are affordable before diving into a new "team". Teams'll get you. It's what gets a lot of people.
This. This. THIS.

Don't get too roped into it. I collected almost every Thor figure. Oops. Captain America, I just got movie cap, a couple Hdras and Red Skull. Done. Definitely make goals and take advantage of boxed sets.
