That's an interesting observation. As a counterpoint I offer this:

I can certainly afford any figures I wish, but as a customizer having the flexibility to secure a large quantity of various figures and pick them up as the clients payments come in Layaway is a blessing. It's a lot easier to budget in a $50 payment on $400-500 worth of figures and pay it off over time.
