COLLECTORS hated the guy. But then again, COLLECTORS were clamoring for the multi-breated Jabba Dancer that became the biggest shelfwarmer of the past 5 years.
Episode I is getting a new theatrical (including 3D!) release in February. Considering the kids big into SW now might not have even been BORN when the film first hit, there is hope it would ignite some interest in the film's merchandise.

That's what the "Vintage" line is for. Movie Heroes is replacement Saga Legends: kid centric realistic figures with little investment. The fact Hasbro has committed to some new tooling for this segment astounds me, but I also don't see a reason to get a fussy with articulation when these still sell by the buttload (and I'm curious to see how the action features effect sales among kids).
Hasbro has a nice super articulated set coming after the first of year, buy them, don't worry about the kid stuff.
