I'd go one step further and say that they probably weren't even thinking about that when the decision was made to change the logo's color. It may have simply been a design choice, or even an edict from Marvel for all we know.

These are designed for kids, after all. I doubt that most kids even care what the packaging looks like and are more interested in the figure itself. Well, unless those kids are 2nd or 3rd gen. collectors, I suppose.
