Tell you the truth I like how the main book looks like a real Avengers team not the Wolverine/Spiderman tools.....um I mean team. I am glad the Vision is back as he was a mainstay from the late 60's to the early eighties. When Bendis killed him off pissed me off more than what John Byrne did to him. Adding Storm to the team is a nice twist like that has been done before (In Avengers 16 they added three villains after all). If protector is going to stay they need to change the costume, I think it looks like something they would have done in the seventies. I do hope they go off in the glory they deserve but they need to lose the Osborn thing. He was great for the storie in 2010 but they need to move on.
New Avengers seem pretty decent and it is nice that Wolverine and Spidey are there alone but I am kind of sick of Luke Cage. Whenever I see him I can't get the pic of his yellow silk shirt out of my head. When did he become A-list? Also Jewel? Why are we forced to deal with her? I read a bit of Alias but she seemed like a huge mess and shouldn't be on an Avenger team. Is they team supposed to be rejects and misfits? If so Doc Strange is in the wrong spot. I do pick it up but mostly because I like to see them getting beat on.
Bendis is gone in May and they have not really said where the ship will go but I hope to God that Osborn and his Dark Avengers are out of site. It is an old bit and I would just like to see him go away. They need new stories, maybe something cosmic, I mean how long has it been since a good space type thing.
Maybe they need a 'street team' but I hope they are kept separate for now. The latest issue of New Avengers has Iron Man in it. Why? The teams need to be their own teams. I kind of think it would be better if they had different writers to keep them "pure".
I am not sure of the other two books I bought the first four issues of Secret Avengers and I was not impressed with the way it was going. The only thing I liked was seeing Valkyrie in action, I wish that she would get her own mini or solo. I have a couple issues of Avengers Academy and liked it but I haven't picked it up. I do know X-23 is joining but it doesn't do much for me as I have very little idea who she is and never read any books she was in.
Anyway that's my ramble, thoughts?
