The other WM didn't even have a place for any MU and I found what they had left back in the clearance section and they only had comic packs marked down to 8, singles down to 5, team packs down to 15, and 1 sentinel they had left marked down to 40
That's a lot of Iron Men. Perfect for statues outside of the Avengers Mansion tho.
A LOT of the $5 Walmarts just changed their MU price back up to $8.97. It seems to have been a temporary attempt to clear out old stock. You're lucky that one got a Sentinel at all, of the 11 Walmarts in my area, ONE stocked Sentinels. They're still full price.

Maybe if he wasn't wearing lipstick he would have moved faster...

Yup, part of the reset to prepare for new stock. It's kind-of a good thing. Kind-of.

Going to:
3 TRU's
4 Walmarts
8 Targets
and 1 LCS
A couple times a week and not finding anything for months is pretty discouraging, thats why i'm suprised that I can never find varients. Either distribution sucks, or the scalpers in my area are the best in the world.
Thats 16 stores! 16!!!! I should should have all the best pickins in the world but I've never found one varient at retail. Not one! I never got the electro revision wave, i still havent seen the DD/BE or WM/QS packs. Needless to say, i'm out of love with the hunt.
I've got:
2 TRUs
11 Walmarts
5 Targets
3 LCS'
I hit the Walmarts the most, but really only two of those routinely get new cases, the rest just barely follow along (though two of them have never restocked as long as I've been hunting). Targets seem to restock MU only once a week (fridays here), and TRUs get a shipment once a week too. They'll usually tell you when the truck comes. It was 2-3 times a week before Christmas. I only hit LCS when I know a new wave came out, or when I need old stuff I can't find anywhere else.
The LCS' and TRUs are the only place I've ever found varients. It all depends on when they buy the case. Early in the production is a lot different than later, when Walmart and Target usually get them.
What I think happens is Hasbro produces the pre-orders first. Places like LCS' and TRU know if they're going to buy these or not, so their orders are in early. Then right before starting up production for the Walmarts and Targets, the Hasbro factory changes out the paint apps or whatever, and mass-produces the much more common versions of the figures.
That's been my experience, so that'd be my guess. If anyone found the Metal Absorbing Man at Walmart or Target, call me out. Maybe my theory doesn't hold water.
