I am a fan of Roy Thomas. He wrote a huge chunk of old Silver Age and early Bronze age Avengers books. They were some nice things. He created Ulton, Vision and Squadron Supreme/Sinister among other things. He had the help of some great artists like Neal Adams and Sal Buscema.

Steve Englehart was good too. He took over Avengers after Roy was kicked up to be Editor in Chief and had a good run. I love the Celestial Madonna story and they way he re-imagined or expanded on the Vision's origin. Mantis was a nice character and he did the Serpent Crown affair with the help of Joe Buscema and a few others. Those were some good times.

I know a lot of people say Kirby for early Silver Age but I am going to have to say Steve Ditko. His Doc Strange and Spider-man were great books and very noticeable.

There are tons to name but I feel as those are the best to stand out for me. Most of what they have, at least for Ditko, I read in my Marvel Master works but some day I will own huge chunks of those books (I am working my Avengers runs as we speak).
