thanks, Hasbro. love you long time.
Ironman, Spider-man, and Wolverine are mainstays. It's the best way to entice retailers. (Like the comic packs used when the push was on retailers not fans) So Modular/90s TAS Ironman would be perfect.

It'd continue to make retailers happy, and would give fans something they want. That's one of the things hasbro has to balance. Appeasing retailers to keep them stocking the lines, and give fans and customers what they would buy. Modular/TAS ironman fits both.

It's actually a great strategy tbh. The retailers only care about the name spider-man, Ironman, Wolverine, X-Men, etc, but the fans can still get what they love by having hasbro make the different versions that have been popular in media. So the real hypervelocity armor may come eventually, as will other more popular figures. It's just a matter of waiting for the right time.

We can see this with Astonishing Wolverine too. Hasbro saved him until later knowing the fans and customer base would eat him up. First they pushed that costume in the animated line but not MU to sell figures(which worked to an extent since a lot of people did buy that wolverine at least). Then they gave us the right costume but unmasked in XMO:W. Now finally when they hit a wave that needed a wolverine to help bolster and appease retailers they gave us the fan demanded right one to make sure it'd sell.

Avengers is probably doing the same thing but via articulation. This year is all about sculpts and first movie. The next movie will probably have more articulation to help push figures you've already bought once. It's all about marketing, keeping retailers happy, and balancing what can sell now with what you might need to sell later. If customers will eat up a 'lesser' version now, you can save the best version for later to make them rebuy the same character. That works for when it's going to be the same costume at least. If new costumes are available to use, that's another way to do the same thing(Ironman, spider-man, and wolverine in particular have a ton of costumes to draw upon).
