I think Iron Man looks great. His character really lends itself to the anime style, especially when you think about where the bulk of robot anime comes from.

Was that supposed to be the anime version of Iron Monger in the trailer?

Very true. It has never been more apparent to me than when the first TF movie designs came out, then when the first TF Animated designs first came out. Now for me, those designs were vastly different from what had come before, but since I've seen TFs go through several variations already, it was easier for me to give the new designs a chance. And for that, I'm glad.

That said, not everyone has to love or even like everything that Marvel puts out, or anything any entertainment company puts out. If that were true, we'd have a very boring society indeed.

I agree that this anime Wolvie looks NOTHING like the one I love. However, I will reserve final judgment until I see the completed work, meaning I have witnessed the personality and attitude that they attach to this new artwork design of a classic character as well as the direction they have chosen to go story wise.
I agree that the anime version doesn't really have a Wolverine vibe to it, aside from the feral hairstyle and the 3-clawed hands. To me, it feels more like a Vampire Hunter D character. But just that intrigues me, since I loved both D movies.

One thing I can't disagree with, is that Wolverine has always been his best in Japan. Who knows Japan better than the Japanese? Unfortunately, it remains to be seen how well they know the Wolverine that we all love. It goes beyond just the claws and the short bulky frame people.
True, some of the best Wolvie stories, IMO, centered in and around Japan. Fighting the Hand, the Patch persona, Mariko, Yukio, the Silver Samurai, etc.

Let's see what happens. I'm keeping an open mind.
That's all we really can do at this point.
