I mean, youo beep your horn and matbe take a shot at their side mirror, but instead of moving, they just hunker down in their car, all freaked out, then you gotta drive around them and remember to swap plates down the road...

It's a hassle.

As to smelling, marvel had done stories with people Spidey saves...commenting...on his stank (after he's been busting ass sving people all night). Not the scent you want to start a date with.
