Whether or not it is "worth it" is in the eye of the beholder. If the games available are titles you really want to play, then by all means go out and grab one. But if there is nothing you want to play yet, and you will be waiting for future games you want to play, then wait it out a bit.
The launch lineup is one of the most solid launch lineups we've had since the Dreamcast, there is a little bit for everyone in there. I haven't heard much negative from other Vita owners either. Pretty decent launch.
I, to, have owned almost every game system (including 3DO, TurboExpress, and some you never heard of), and I think the Vita has the strongest launch of any system, gamewise. Most systems in the past have launched with one or two "flagship" titles that showcase the best of the system, then the rest of the games are generic filler. The Vita has a solid line-up for the first month of it's release (Feb 22 to end of March). Great FPS (Unit 13), TONS of great fighters (MK, Blazblue, UMvC3, SFxTekken), great racers, platformers, and a few sports titles too. The memory card thing is tough at first glance, but honestly, a 4GB card is the most I'll probably ever need, coz I only download demos, not full retail games. If a game is worth owning, I want a physical copy.
