Soak in hot water (hottest you can take without burning yourself, just below boiling).

Soak for a moment then remove as much "soft plastic" parts as you can.

Soak an additional minute or two (to break that glue loose) and what I use is a 2 1/2 inch bench vise ( I have heard of folks using channel locks type pliers too) . The jaws are padded with an ols t'shirt scrap folded a few times.

Place the figure in the vice so that the body "seam" is getting pinched by the vise.

Slowly tighten it up until you hear a soft pop. You may have to repeat a few times but it will come free.

If you take your time you can even preserve the pegs that hold the front and back halves together.

I just cracked my Terrax (ML BAF) last night and it broke free leaving the pegs intact, which is awesome because I will be putting a battery in the body, being able to pop it open and closed will facilitate baterry changes.

I just did an MU Black Widow last night too (gave her X-23's legs and GI HJOe Renegades Scarlett's awesome arms) When I get home I'll throw a couple pics up.
